My Ever-Sinking Ship

I am an uncontrollable mess
I am the captain of an ever-sinking ship
I am spilt milk and crying about it
And I’m okay with that

I am a mass of contradictions
I am a broken metronome, swinging wildly through emotions
I am repeating the same patterns until I run ruts in the ground
And that’s fine by me

Because I am happier trying to sail this sinking ship through storms
Than I ever was in calm oceans with you.
